The Boston Consulting Group has released its 10th edition of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world. The list is based on an international survey of 1,500 company executives. Take a look the complete list below.
Earlier this week, Boston Consulting Group released its annual list of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world. For the second year in a row, Apple and Google found their positions at the top, followed by Tesla, Microsoft, and Samsung.
But, how do we measure innovation? Calling Apple the most innovative company – ahead of the companies like Google, Tesla, and Microsoft – might seem misleading to some people. To tackle such questions, BCG has ranked the companies by asking the competitor business executives who are the innovation leaders.
Along with the results of the survey, the ranking also measures how much money companies returned to their shareholders.
Pointing out a major trend, Michael Ringel, senior partner at BCG and a co-author of the report, says that 4 out of the top 10 companies deal with automobiles. “Cars have become in the past five years the delivery [systems] of consumer electronics,” Ringel says.
Another interesting trend shows that even though there are few Chinese companies in this top 50 most innovative companies list, the “rate of innovation of Chinese companies is increasing, but with a lag.”
Out of the top 50, India has one company on this list – Tata Motors at 26.
